The SuperKo-family is shortlisted for 3 out of 10 finalist-proposals in the open competition for a new meeting point in Brunn´s Gallery, Aarhus.

Our proposals were made during a short one-day summer workshop in August, and is in many ways very representative for our approach to design and the development of ideas.

What: Workshop trying to redefine the perception of carpets

In the summer of 2006 SuperKo contacted international carpet manufacturer EgeCarpets in Herning, Denmark in order to try and redesign or rethink the way we perceive and use carpets.

EgeCarpets currently have a waste production of around 100.000 sqm. carpet a year. Part of the task was therefore also to come up with new ways of trying recycling or reuse this waste material.

The outcome of the workshop was a larger number of different ideas, which were presented at the half-yearly general managers meeting in December 2006. The response was very positive and SuperKo has afterwards been invited to be part of EgeCarpets new innovation board, which is currently involved in the process of trying to rethink and reinvent EgeCarpets for the future.

What: R&D - A standing paper luminaire

A modular system made of jointed patches make up the screen of this standing luminaire. The overlapping joints create great ambiance whenever the light is on…

What: R&D - A pill dispenser for active patients with a regular use of medicine.

The design is all about providing a more open approach to medicine and especially patients with a rather active and normal everyday life. It is a pill dispenser, which for example heart- and diabetes patients can use, in their everyday life without feeling sick or alienated. More and more patients is able to live a normal lives with just moderate medication and this group of people do not need to signal their disease more than necessary.

The pill dispenser is a product with a strong identity and a very clear profile for both potential producers and the end-user.
